Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Virtual Verse Studio, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard the information you provide when using our Wind Alarm mobile application (the “App”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

• Account Information. Email address, display name, and password when you sign up.
• Location Data. GPS location (only while using the App) to determine nearby wind conditions.
• Push Notification Token. Device token for sending alarm notifications via Apple Push Notification Service (iOS) and Firebase Cloud Messaging (Android).
• Usage Analytics (only with your consent). If you opt in, we collect anonymous product-usage data through Unity Gaming Services Analytics, including:
  • Events describing how you use features — for example, completing onboarding, searching for a station, viewing a forecast, adding a favorite, creating or deleting an alarm, opening an alarm notification, and changing the app language.
  • The screens you view and the time spent on each.
  • Session information such as session start, app version, operating system, device model, country, and language.
  • An anonymous Unity Player ID used solely to group your events across sessions and devices. This identifier is not linked to your email, display name, or any other personal information.
  We do not collect your email, display name, GPS coordinates, search query text, station names, or any other personally identifying information through analytics. Numeric values that could identify you (such as favorites count) are stored only in coarse buckets.

3. How We Use Your Information

• Account Management. Create and maintain your account and preferences.
• App Functionality. Fetch wind data from public APIs and trigger your alarms.
• Notifications. Send push notifications when wind conditions match your criteria.
• Product Improvement (only with your consent). Understand how the App is used in aggregate so we can fix bugs, improve onboarding, and prioritize features. This is the only purpose of the analytics data described above.
• Customer Support. Respond to inquiries at privacy@virtualverse.studio.

4. Payment Processing

Subscriptions are processed exclusively through Apple In-App Purchase. We do not collect or store your payment or billing information.

5. Information Sharing & Disclosure

• Weather APIs. We send only your generic location coordinates to public weather APIs; no personal data is shared.
• Unity Gaming Services (Analytics, Authentication, Cloud Save). We use Unity Technologies’ backend services to authenticate accounts, store your settings, and — only if you opt in — to process anonymous usage analytics. Data sent to Unity is governed by Unity’s privacy policy at https://unity.com/legal/privacy-policy. We do not sell or share this data with advertisers.
• Firebase (Push Notifications). We use Google’s Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver alarm notifications. Only your device push token is processed by Firebase for this purpose.
• No Advertising. We do not run advertisements in the App and do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
• Legal Compliance. We may disclose data if required by law or to protect our rights.

5a. Your Analytics Choice

Analytics collection is strictly opt-in. The first time you launch the App, you will be asked whether you want to help improve WindUP by sharing anonymous usage data. You can change your decision at any time from My Account → Privacy. If you turn analytics off after previously enabling it, we will stop collecting new events immediately and request that Unity delete your historical analytics data.

6. Data Retention

We keep your data as long as your account is active. If you request deletion, we’ll erase your personal information promptly, unless legal requirements force us to retain it longer.

7. Data Security

We use industry-standard encryption (at rest and in transit) and access controls to protect your data.

8. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction (GDPR, CCPA, etc.), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your data. To exercise these rights, email us at privacy@virtualverse.studio.

You can also withdraw your consent to analytics at any time inside the App from My Account → Privacy. Doing so stops further analytics collection and triggers a deletion request for any analytics data we previously collected from your device.

9. Children’s Privacy

Our App is not directed to anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16; any such data discovered will be deleted.

10. International Data Transfers

Your data is stored and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from your country.

11. Compliance with Global Privacy Laws

We strive to comply with GDPR, CCPA, Delaware Online Privacy and Protection Act, and other applicable laws.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy when our practices or legal requirements change. We’ll notify you and update the “Effective Date” above.
