By downloading or using MapVerse (“the App”), on iPhone or in Apple CarPlay, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App. Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies.
Your privacy is covered separately, at virtualverse.studio/privacy/mapverse.
1. Drive safely — read this first
- Always obey traffic laws, road signs and conditions. They take priority over any instruction from the App.
- Set your destination before you drive. Do not look at or operate your phone while the vehicle is moving; use CarPlay and voice guidance instead, and only when it is safe and legal.
- Routes, maps, place details and travel times come from third-party data and may be wrong, incomplete or out of date. A road may be closed, private, unsafe or not suited to your vehicle. Use your own judgment at all times.
- The App is not designed for emergency services, aviation, marine or off-road navigation, and must not be relied on where an error could cause injury.
2. Your licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App on Apple devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use.
You may not copy, sell, rent or sublicense the App; reverse engineer or modify it except where that right cannot lawfully be excluded; or scrape or bulk-download map data through it. The App's map styles, artwork, code and name remain our property or that of our licensors.
3. Map data and third-party services
Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License, with map tiles served by OpenFreeMap and OpenMapTiles. Search and directions are provided by Apple Maps. These services are outside our control and may change or be unavailable.
4. Inspired by games, not affiliated with them
MapVerse's map worlds are original designs inspired by video game genres and eras. MapVerse is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any game developer or publisher. Any third-party names mentioned belong to their owners and are used only to describe a style.
5. MapVerse Pro, free passes and refunds
The map, CarPlay, search and turn-by-turn navigation are free. MapVerse Pro unlocks every map world (including new ones we add), custom app icons and an ad-free experience. It is offered as:
- Yearly or monthly subscriptions, which renew automatically at the price shown in the App until you cancel. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase, and renewals are charged within 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Free trials. If a free trial is offered, you are charged when it ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before. Any unused part of a trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
- Lifetime, a one-time purchase that unlocks Pro permanently on your Apple Account.
Cancel any time in your iPhone's Settings → your name → Subscriptions, or from MapVerse → Settings → Manage subscription. Cancelling stops the next renewal; Pro stays active until the end of the period you paid for. Use Restore purchases in the App on a new device.
Purchases are processed by Apple, and refund requests must go to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Prices may vary by region and may change; we will tell you before a subscription price increase takes effect, as Apple requires.
Free passes. New users may receive a welcome pass, and users without Pro can watch an optional video to unlock a single world for 24 hours. Passes are free, temporary, have no cash value, and their availability and length may change.
Nothing in these terms limits your non-waivable statutory consumer rights.
6. Acceptable use
Do not use the App unlawfully, attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or those of our providers, or interfere with how the App works.
7. Availability and changes
We may update, change, add or remove map worlds and features, or discontinue the App. We try to give notice of significant changes but cannot always do so, and we do not promise the App will be uninterrupted or error-free.
8. Disclaimers and liability
The App and its routes and map data are provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law we exclude implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss, damage, fine or injury arising from following directions or from inaccurate map data, nor for indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability arising out of the App is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) USD 50.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including your statutory consumer rights.
9. Age
You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the EEA/UK where required) to use the App, and a parent or guardian must approve any purchase made by a minor.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, and its courts have non-exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the benefit of any mandatory protections of your country of residence and may bring proceedings there.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and we will notify you in the App of significant changes. Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept it.
